" Experienced: Some high schools have more students than Wasilla has
residents. Many cities have more residents than the state of Alaska. No
legislative experience other than City Council. Little hands-on
supervisory or managerial experience; needed help of a city
administrator to run town of about 5,000. " -- About Sarah Palin: A Letter From Anne Kilkenny

On one hand :
" U.S. President George W. Bush expressed "deep concerns" over religious freedom and human rights in China " - CNN
and on the other :
" The International Court of Justice in The Hague sided in 2004 with the
Mexican government's argument that the United States had violated the
1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations by failing to inform the
arrested Mexican nationals of their right to seek help from the Mexican
Consulate.
(...)
But the court, a branch of the United Nations, has no power to enforce
its rulings. A spokesman for Texas Gov. Rick Perry, a Republican, has
said that "the world court has no standing in Texas." " -- Los Angeles Times
The USA - where the Union can sign an international treaty the States dismiss - should worry a bit more about their international commitments before giving lessons to the rest of the World. I think it'll be MUCH harder in the near future for US nationals emprisoned in Mexico to have access to a consulary representative... Action, reaction...

I am currently watching a french documentary about Bin Laden in Afghanistan on the french Planète TV channel. A french special forces soldier confirmed - anonymously - that french commandos reported in 2001 having Bin Laden "in line of fire" to the US headquarters in Bagram. They were waiting for a shot order that never came and they could only watch Bin Laden flee safey. They have no idea why the order never came, but they call it a political mistake...

"The United States has used precision missiles to strike a "known
terrorist target" in southern Somalia, a U.S. military official said.
The strike destroyed two houses killing three women and three children,
a local official told CNN" (emphasis is mine)

If you read italian, you can now have the proof that being the (former) President of a Western country and being totally stupid and antisemitic is unfortunately possible. For those who can't, Francesco Cossiga told the main italian newspaper the 9/11 attacks were planned and carried out by the CIA and the Mossad with help of the world sionist organization...

- 54 per cent of Afghan territory has a permanent Taliban presence
- The insurgency now controls vast swaths of unchallenged territory,
including rural areas, border areas, some district centres, and
important road arteries
- the question now appears not to be whether the Taliban will return to Kabul, but when this will happen
Better and better eh ?

Hum.

During my breakfast today, I'm listening to CNN, George W. Bush speaking at the convention of veterans of foreign wars. He's comparing Vietnam and Iraq, saying that leaving Asia was a stupid idea. I've never heard so many inanities and so blatantly false propoaganda. But the amazing thing is not what he says - after all we all know the guy is a jerk... What's amazing is hearing people APPLAUD !!! Sigh.

So apparently, there is terrorism in Second Life too. Quick, let's send Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz, ask the Congress for a few more billion dollars and let's install Democracy there, fighting that new axis of evil ! (source : Laurent Jouanneau)
