Daniel, regarding the drop down list, I am not sure if it's the most usable solution.
For example Microsoft changed their drop down list to a single selection use radio buttons group in their shutdown system 'options'.
I think I've read somewhere that drop down are less user friendly than those radio buttons.
Is the open in a new tab option really nessessary? Why not just choose a behaviour and stick with it? I know if I chose new I would expect it to either open a new tab unless the first one was blank.
