MacOS X

I have received since yesterday a lot of user feedback about the lack of a MacOS X version. That's only because I have no Mac here. I am not a Mac buddy and will probably not use a Mac for anything else but building Nvu or Mozilla. What do people wanting a MacOS X version think of a paypal account to support the acquisition of a Mac ?
I know what's going to be your first question: hey, I have a Mac, I can do that build for you, you only have to release it. Sorry, won't work, because there is no way I guarantee your build and its security. Don't take it bad, that's the just the way it should be.
By the way, I hacked DotClear and all permalinks in this blog now show my permanent glazman.org TLD instead of webperso.easyconnect.fr/danielglazman.

I've been trying to build Nvu on Mac OS X but always get this error:
checking for pkg-config... no
*** The pkg-config script could not be found. Make sure it is
*** in your path, or set the PKG_CONFIG environment variable
*** to the full path to pkg-config.
*** Or see www.freedesktop.org/softw... to get pkg-config.
configure: error: Library requirements (gtk+-2.0 >= 1.3.7) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.
*** Fix above errors and then restart with "make -f client.mk build"
make: *** [/Users/artooro/mozilla/Makefile] Error 1
I downloaded and built pkg-config so don't know what's up here.
Any suggestions?
As far as the Paypal account for you to buy a Mac, I say go for it! I can't give you anything but somebody might.

Merci.
i'd throw you some money but i can't do much
honestly though i don't think there is going to be much interest until word about N|vu gets out to more mac users though
i lust after this all the time and someone once sent me a build of 0.1 and it rocked.
my question is though, when the code gets handed off to mozilla is someone else going to do this anyway?
i know it's probably a while off though if that is even the case.
Some notes:
- if I had a mac lying around, I would make you an account on it. But I don't. Could that be a temporary solution to you if someone would provide one? I guess not because of the securit, but who knows?
- otherwise, you may try to ask Apple for a mac, maybe they can give you one even just for a year against a little publicity. I don't think they have anything to lose. It would cost them mostly nothing, and they would get support for an important free tool on their architecture. Maybe if you make a petition first, with people sending their signature to support you, you might even get more weight in your request.
Don't you have some old friends working in Apple?
Good luck.
yeah seriously there is a good idea if i've ever heard one! Call Hyatt and whoever else and see who can spread the word in the company about this software you're working on and how apple should throw you some funds, i doubt they will really give you much but who knows... it's worth a try.
Though i dunno how much Lindows would appreciate that move...
Lots of Mac users know about NVU (myself for e.g.) especially because there are *no* cheap/freeware WYSIWYG html editors on the Mac - there is only really a choice of Macromedia Contribute or GoLive.

I may donate to this cause
Hi, i'm italian and i can send you a bank money transfer for the cost of only one euro or less.
You are a franch man and you are in EU, isnt it? Publish your IBAN.
Ciao, Sandro kensan.

I downloaded sometime ago the NVU 0.17 from
www.simir.com/wiki/index....
It works quite well on Panther only. I tryed to build NVU 0.2 with no luck.
May be someone can do the same as the wonderful person who built NVU 0.17 and give us a link to download from.
Good luck to all Mac users! We will get NVU on Mac officially some day!
