New versions of AIM not compatible with itself ?!?

This morning, AIM proposed me an upgrade. Well, ok, let's do it. I can immediately see the difference!!! I was trying to send a message to Chris Hofmann and here's the great, marvelous, so typical of AOL, result:
Update: leaving and restarting AIM fixed the problem. Weird, very weird.

I have the latest 5.5.3595, and no problems.
No beta's or newer builds on AOL's AIM or beta site.

Je me joins à d'autres pour t'encourager à utiliser un client Jabber comme (marchent sous Windows) Exodus ( exodus.jabberstudio.org/ ) ou Psi ( psi.affinix.com/ ) ou encore gaim (cf sourceforge).
gaim runs on Windoze too. It is Free (as in speach) and is compatible with other IM protocol so you can start switching to Jabber.
