Nvu progress 20040914
By glazou on Tuesday 14 September 2004, 13:34 - Nvu - Permalink
- Vertical ruler done.
- fixed a few minor bugs related to positioning in nsHTMLAbsPosition.cpp and around.
- fixed a problem in site manager: was calling nsIFTPChannel with a successful status code
- started implementing RNFR and RNTO ftp commands to allow Site Manager to rename a file/dir. Update: done; I now have to add some UI for that to NVU...
- cleanup of that code according to darin's comments for trunk landing

Comments
Is it possible to build NVU without some formatting options, or is it possible to install NVU and permanently take away some formatting options? In particular, we want to take away Our agency is looking at web content tools that would limit users ability to edit font style. We are looking to keep a consistent look and feel for our web pages, and allowing user to work with fonts is dangerous.

Can't find this here anymore - got it from google's cache and here's a response. Sorry if its in the wrong place. Owen.
Yes you can preserve the template tags in nvu. The way I have done it is to use <!--{blah}--> rather than just {blah} . That way Smarty template stuff is preserved but problem is you must do it in source code view and then you'll only see/edit the nvu tags in source code view from then on.
I'm looking for a better way. Will post here soon if I sort it (toniht I hope).
Owen.
Not sure if this is the right place to ask: when will be the next release?
Tiens, encore une nouvelle review de NVU:
www.newgenerationorder.or...
(je ne l'ai pas vu passer ici, celle-là, il me semble).
don't forget to delete me.
don't make me responsible for your reluctance to disable anon postings. when i replied to franck's posting in order to defend myself (you don't get it, do you?) everything was fine - at least for me - until you dropped in unnecessarily. you are escalating the tiniest thing on earth and blame it to me. all i was asking for was to make sc an additional feature, not to remove it. a brief answer would have been more than sufficient. there is a difference between using sc and depending on it but i don't expect anyone, not even you, to distinguish between it and read postings THAT carefully.
and now delete my posting if you can't stand it
