Nvu progress 20040920

- Nvu 0.50 will contain a one-shot dialog, shown when the user launches the application for the first time, and proposing to "ping" Nvu authors through an XMLHttpRequest with a very simple "add 1 to the number of people who downloaded and started Nvu 0.50 at least once". It will transmit nothing else, and the request will of course not be stored on our side. The user will of course have the choice to refuse it and the question will never be asked again with 0.50.
- it seems that Composer is badly broken on the trunk... I saw during the week-end a few new severe bugs related to Composer, some of them being regressions. I kindly ask developers working on the layout/CSS engine on one hand, on the DOM on the other, to test their patches on Composer before check-in. Firefox and Thunderbird are not the only apps in the Mozilla world. Thanks.

"Firefox and Thunderbird are not the only apps in the Mozilla world."... Tout est dit...
Are there any automated tests for the composer that one could run?
If it is any consolation, Firefox is (and maybe Thunderbird is also) pretty broken on the trunk as well. Most of the testing is happening on the branches...
Is there any kind of schedule or roadmap for next issues of Nvu such as #05 ?
where I can get a snapshot of nvu 0.5 to try to install?
Daniel, could you possibly write a set of "testcases" to follow (one being smoketest ones, and if possible a set of automated) for Nvu/Composer so developers could check?
