I always want icons for all my programs, and since I'm really bad at doing them myself, I often end up with really bad icons for everything It would be really handy if there was a resource of icons that people could use copyright free (or open source only, or BSD only, or non-commerical - whatever), then maybe all programs would get better icons.
If you can contact him and tell him you're working on a Gecko-based program, I'm sure he'll be glad to help you out. Jon did most of the work on the Firefox/Thunderbird icons, and I think you'll agree with me that he's the man to make the official Nvu icon too (when the program is near 1.0).
MonsterTruck: As far as I am aware, he only did the icons for the main program - not any of the individual icons which are in each individual theme. The people who did the icons are those who did the pinstripe/winstripe theme, and the guy who did the Qute theme

Neil,
You are right. I should have been more specific and say Jon did most of the work on-the-main-program-icon (the one you see on the desktop). Perhaps Jon can make the icon Daniel is requesting since he already has some valuable experience working for the Mozilla Visual Identity Team. And when Nvu is closer to a final release maybe Jon can make the official icon/logo, so that Nvu fits nicely with the rest of the Mozilla programs. Just my 0.02¢.

The following might develop into that in the longer term:

Can't you use the one Firefox use for renaming bookmarks? bugzilla.mozilla.org/atta...
Daniel, the best icon designer (IMHO) is Jon Hicks from www.hicksdesign.co.uk/
