OOoFf

Linspire packages Open Office and Mozilla Firefox in the same retail box. Including for Windows. Around $30. OOoFf...
Update: I have received by direct email very strong comments from various parts of the world about OOoFf, some of them insulting for both Linspire and me. My company is only a contractor for Linspire, and it is not linked in any way to OOoFf, its marketing, its conception, its sales, whatever. So please refrain from sending me harsh words, from asking me why I still work for them, and send your questions/comments to Linspire directly, Linspire's president Kevin Carmony has contributed a comment to the MozillaZine story about OOoFf. Comments are now closed on this post. Thanks.

Daniel, those guys you work for are true geniuses indeed: selling OOo (free) + Firefox (free) on a blank CD (2 bucks at most) for 30 bucks and pretending it is a bargain, is definitely quite something...
How can you endorse such a crap?
Cheers.
oooff.com doesn't contain a single link to either the Mozilla or OpenOffice websites, and doesn't mention that they're free software. But hey, they've knocked that price down from $50 to $30 - what a bargain!
Seriously, I could find people selling boxed versions of OOo for less on ebay. It's a good thing to get these products on store shelves where people can see them, but not for that price. And what idiot came up with the name OOoFf? Linspire need to find someone else to come up with their product names...
But, it will be available in (real) stores.
I'll just stick to my download though.
Yes I've read on Mozillazine that you can buy both products separately on CD through their own online shops for a few bucks less (/only/ a few bucks less), but I think that when stores are going to carry this disc, they will have the same price-tag. Which is quite a decent price then. If $30 is needed to let this be carried in stores, be my guest
That aside, I'm sure they've struck an arrangement with the Mozilla and OpenOffice.org foundations to feed back some of the money they make with it. And if they haven't - hey, they gotta have some way to make money in order to fund projects like NVU...
