Nvu progress 20041221

As expected, Nvu 0.70 is ready for Linux and Windows. I have a lot of problems on Mac, and I need help on that platform. The problem is most certainly related to hiddenWindow.xul and overlays. But that's really hell to debug on a Mac.

Do the Win32/Linux users need to wait until you solve the Mac problem, or have you already released 0.7 to Linspire? I notice you dont have a /nvu/releases/0.70/ directory here yet ...

Try your hardest to ignore those who seem to disparage your work on nvu, it is appreciated
Sorry to hear about the difficulties on the Mac, but I have a request. Right now on NVU for the Mac the copy (or cut) and paste command is triggered by the command key. But on the Mac the cut, copy, and paste command is normally triggered by the "Apple Key," which I believe is equivalent to the "alt" key on Windows. Unless this is fixed, I can't access my multiple clipboard which is essentail when adding multiple links to a webpage.
i ask just for curiosity and maybe this is not the right place, but i don't know where to tell it.
so: why there is no debian package in official repositories? this is really strange, since there are tons and tons of esoteric emulators, editors and utilities, but no such thing as nvu?!
For "guest":
I had seen a message on Debian BTS about Nvu being prepared by someone. But after that there has been no updates on it. Also, it is generally not the original author of the software who maintains the official .deb. Its the other volunteers who do it and also contribute upstream.
If you really want a .deb, you can search for it on apt-get.org It will be an unofficial package and its an earlier version e.g. 0.40
@ Swamp Gas
The 'apple' key and the 'command' key are one and the same....
@ Daniel
Sorry to hear about the Mac problems. NVU 6 runs faily well on my Mac (10.3.7). Is there any news about a Japanese localisation for Windoze ?
Thanks for the hard work anyway.
What is does hiddenWindow.xul do at all?
Daniel,
I checked a few times yesterday evening and this morning for Nvu 0.7 download, but could not yet find it. Will you have your own download area, or will it be just nvu.com ? I already noticed one ping for version 0.7 on www.disruptive-innovation...
but that's probably yours during testing.
Since 0.6 was already 'marketed' as 1.0 beta prerelease, how will they call this one? 1.0 RC1 ? Or will they use their common sense, and call it 0.7.
