parlino

It's called parlino and it's a new mozilla-based VoIP standalone application. Oh, BTW, they have a nice minimizeToTray...

But don't misinterpret what you see just above, THIS IS NOT XUL ! Probably because they could not style correctly everything and override -moz-appearance, THEY DID EVERYTHING IN HTML !!! YES, HTML !!!! Install Parlino and look into the application directory (see htmlUI) if you don't believe me. There no XUL involved in the UI... So it's quite cool to see a new mozilla-based app, but really awful to see it implemented like that. I wonder who did that for Tele2...
Why do I have this feeling parlino is not a 100% mozilla-based app like Nvu or Firefox but more an embedding of Gecko into a pure windows app...
Note: this is weird, Paint Shop Pro and two other capture softwares I have here are unable to take a screenshot of the window. For them, the window is entirely transparent and they capture whatever is behind the window. I had to rely on the Print Screen key of my keyboard and paste the whole thing into PSP.

I don't understand.
Why should they use xul in the UI? Why is the use of HTML in this case not a good idea?
Yes, but only this month:
"free calls to landlines in Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg until the 31st of May"

About the screenshots problem, I think the window is a layered window : since Windows 2000 one can create this kind of windows to have transparency effects. I suppose the method used by Paint Shop Pro and the others don't support layered windows.
