Gmail and DTD files

Don't send emails with a *.dtd attachment to someone reading mail with Gmail, or that person will not receive the attachment... Don't ask me why, but we had twice the problem today.

Is there a way to obtain explanations from Google on this issue?
Hi,
I recently have to made an emailing for my client, i tried to make it accessible using inline styles and dtd. I had so many troubles that i went to some table layout (sic).
The fact is that gmail turn your email in some home javascript strings and keep what he wants.
I write them to have some explanations to provide further good emailing, but i hadn't any answer for the moment.
