Following a long and interesting private discussion with french friends, I think the "HTML in email" topic should get more visibility in the W3C. We all know that modern email marketing uses rich content based on HTML. This triggers a lot of issues, the same old issues, from bandwidth to security, and it really seems to me these issues remain almost entirely unaddressed. The only difference between now and 1995 is that we now know rich email is here to stay (even if the DoD just banned HTML email for security reasons). There is no harmonization in that field, nothing we can really show to prove we're working on it. Because we're not ?
