I have just read Window's interview on itnews.com.au and the first thing that came to my mind was D'OH... I don't buy it. I just don't buy it at all. I disagree with her because virtual worlds are unlikely to be able to represent all the diversity of emotions a human face or a human body is able to show. And this kind of details DOES matter in IRL meetings, this kind of details gives important information to the attendees. Virtual meetings are just overkill compared to a good visioconferencing system.

Furthermore, I was really puzzled by her "Once upon a time, your browser was just text and images. Now, it's incredibly rich and it has Java, ActiveX, and Ajax". Yeah, this is sooooo cool to have Java and ActiveX in 2007... And I don't even speak of "First off, the industry will have to get rid of HTTP"...
