Almost no newspaper reported about it, but a 40 years old dutch woman died last month of the Marburg virus. The Marburg virus was the first filovirus discovered and is close cousin to Ebola. She visited caves in Uganda and those caves were the home of fruit bats, supposed to be one of filovirii hosts. She visited the caves the 16th and 19th of june. Returned in good health to the Netherlands the 28th. Became sick the 2nd of july. Was taken to hospital on the 5th. Symptoms turned to hemorrhagic fever the 7th. Died a few days later... Fortunately, she traveled before the the appearance of symptoms.
